PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device which prevents the lowering of the conveying ability of a conveying member when temperature is high and suppresses the occurrence of image irregularities when the temperature is low, and to provide an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The cleaning device 20 includes: a cleaning blade 22 removing foreign matters on an image carrier 3; a conveying coil 23 conveying the foreign matter removed by the cleaning member to the outside of the device by the rotation thereof; and a vibrating member 25 vibrated to sweep the foreign matter in accordance with the rotation of the conveying coil 23. The vibrating member 25 comprises a shape memory member which is normally held in a separated position away from the conveying coil 23 and displaced to a previously stored operation position for vibrating the conveying coil 23, when the vibrating member 25 is stimulated at a predetermined temperature or more.
