PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit of an air conditioner, preventing a front panel from excessively floating at an intermediate section in the longitudinal direction. SOLUTION: This indoor unit 1 has: the openable and closable front panel 20 mounted on a front face of a body 10; and intermediate mounting sections 31, 32L, 32R fixed in a state of being engaged with a back face of the front panel 20, and engaged with the front face of the body 10 in closing the front panel 20. The body 10 has body side engagement sections 10e, 10f disposed on the intermediate section in the longitudinal direction. The intermediate mounting section 31 has an intermediate engagement section 33b engaged with the body side engagement sections 10e, 10f to control the movement of the intermediate mounting section 31 in the direction separating from the front face of the body 10.
