摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control rod drive mechanism capable of smoothly and surely extracting a control rod from a reactor core after a scrum. SOLUTION: The control rod drive mechanism 1 includes a circular tube shaped guide tube 2 having a latch hole 3 and extended in the vertical direction, a hollow piston 5 connected with the control rod and capable of vertically moving in the guide tube 2, a latch 7 swingingly installed on the hollow piston 5 and capable of being hooked and unhooked to/from the latch hole 3 of the guide tube 2 and a spring connected between the hollow piston 5 and the latch 7 for hooking the latch 7 to the latch hole 3 of the guide tube 2. A ball nut 11 having a latch guide 10 capable of contacting with the latch 7 is provided vertically movably in the guide tube 2, and an electric motor 14 is connected with the ball nut 11. Furthermore, the latch 7 includes a guide face 7a abutting on the latch guide 10 of the ball nut 11, and the latch guide 10 includes a guide roller 15 abutting on the guide face 7a of the latch 7.
