摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method, with which a glassy hollow sphere having a uniform high strength can be obtained by using any kind of ore, and a field of application as a filler material can be widened. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method of producing a glassy hollow sphere includes classifying a volcanic glass ore, and supplying a specific fraction to an internal combustion type medium fluidized bed furnace to burn. The method, more specifically, includes: (a) classifying the volcanic glass ore into five fractions, a heavy mineral fraction, a coarse particle fraction having the particle diameter of 515 μm or more, a medium particle fraction having the particle diameter of 300-515 μm, a fine particle fraction having the particle diameter of 7-300 μm and an ultrafine particle fraction having the particle diameter of less than 7 μm; (b) contacting the volcanic glass ore with a high temperature discharge gas discharged from the internal combustion type medium fluidized bed furnace to exchange heat between two to dry; (c) supplying only the fine particle fraction among the fractions into the internal combustion type medium fluidized bed furnace to burn at 900-1,150°C and (d) controlling the temperature of the volcanic glass ore at the first contact point of the volcanic glass ore and the discharge gas to 250-490°C.
