<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission having improved durability by securely fixing an inner lever to a shift select lever shaft. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This shift device includes the shift select lever shaft 4100, the inner lever 4200 spline-fitted to the shift select lever shaft 4100 and having a hole 4231 flatted in the direction perpendicular to a spline, and a slotted pin 4111 inserted into the hole 4231 of the inner lever 4200 and a hole 4101 of the shift select lever shaft 4100 to fix the inner lever 4200 to the shift select lever shaft 4100.
