PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seam felt for paper manufacture, having seam loops intermeshed with one another so that the felt is preferably installed. SOLUTION: The felt F for a papermaking machine has seam loops formed at opposite ends in the MD direction of a ground fabric having two ends, and to the ground fabric layers of batt fiber are integrated by needle punching. A group of seam loops is composed of a plurality of seam loops arranged in side by side relationship, and a seam core line member is inserted into a common bore formed by the meshing of the seam loops to connect the ends in the MD direction of the seam felt together. The seam loops of each group can be integrated by adhesive bonding, heat adhesion of core-in-sheath composite fibers, or the like. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
