PURPOSE: A plasma display apparatus and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce power consumption and an afterimage by maintaining one among a sustain scan signal and an address signal with a constant voltage level when a same screen continues. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel(510) comprises a plurality of scan electrodes, a sustain electrodes and a plurality of address electrodes. The scan electrodes and the sustain electrodes are formed in the upper plate. Address electrodes are formed in the lower plate. Driving parts(520,530,540) supplies a driving signal to a plurality of electrodes. A controller(550) decreases the number of sustain pulses when the same screen continues for designated times. The controller controls one among a scan signal and a data signal to preset voltage level when the number of sustain pulses reaches to a predefined value. |
