Disclosed is a separation membrane comprising a layer having a separation function, wherein the layer having a separation function comprises a poly(vinylidene fluoride) resin having a melt viscosity of 3300 Pa·s or more and has a three-dimensional network structure.  The separation membrane can be used for the treatment of water and has high virus-removal properties, high pure water permeability, high physical durability and high chemical strength.
