<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the detection of a specific object such as a face even in a state that the defocusing amount of an imaging optical system is large. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging device 100 being an imaging element which photoelectric-converts an object image formed by a luminous flux from an imaging optical system 101, has an imaging element 104 having a first pixel group 105 and a second pixel group 106 having a structure of which the focus depth is deeper than that of the first pixel group, image generating portions 112, 113 which generate an image for display or recording by using the output from the first pixel group, and an object detection means 117 which generates an image for object detection by using the output from the second pixel group, and performs processing to detect the specific object from the image for object detection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
