DRIVE DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive device that can calculate a feedforward target value at which speed variation of a driven part can be appropriately suppressed by feedforward control, and to provide an image forming apparatus.

SOLUTION: The drive device has: a drive source; the driven part; a drive transmission part which transmits drive from the drive source to the driven part; a drive information acquiring means which acquires driven information from the driven part; a feedback control part which performs drive control of the drive source by using the driven information; a feedforward control part which performs the feedforward control by using the feedforward target value to drive variation of the driven part; and a variation prediction means which predicts timing that the drive variation occurs. The feedback control part has a plurality of control gains. The drive device includes a target value calculation means which calculates the feedforward target value by using the driven information acquired when the control gain is switched to a lower gain than when ordinary operation is performed and an apparatus body is operated without performing the feedforward control.
