<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that has high degree of freedom in type and installation position of a temperature detecting means for controlling the conducting amount of a degaussing coil, and efficiently and certainly suppresses excessive temperature increase in a non-paper-passing region in a fixing member with degauss by the degaussing coil, and an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: This fixing device includes: a plurality of temperature detecting means 40A-40D for detecting the temperature of a pressing member 30 pressed against the fixing member to form a nip section at a plurality of places in the width direction; an exciting coil 26 for induction-heating the fixing member by generating magnetic fluxes; and a plurality of pairs of degaussing coils 27A-27C for generating, at both ends of the width direction, magnetic fluxes in the direction to degauss the magnetic fluxes generated by the exciting coils 26. The conducting amount of the plurality of pairs of degaussing coils 27A-27C is controlled based on the detection result of the plurality of temperature detecting means 40A-40D. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
