PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: a wave absorber at a widely known motorboat race stadium provides an umbrella-shaped wave absorbing body serving also as a guard rail on the course side, so that when a racer of a motorboat off the course loses control and the motorboat hits the guard rail of the wave absorber, the racer thrown out beyond a cowl of a cockpit of the motorboat can go over the guard rail, hit a steel material of the wave absrober, be injured, or even die. SOLUTION: In the wave absorber having a buffer function in the motorboat race stadium provided with a float buoyancy adjustment part, the wave return umbrella-shaped wave absorbing body serving also as the guard rail is improved, a guard rail installation panel is provided on the opposite side to the course, a first coupling U-shaped steel coupling metal fixture is provided in a U-shaped recessed part and a second coupling U-shaped steel coupling metal fixture is provided in an upper end step part of an intermediate part in a longitudinal direction of a slope side of a cross section acute angle triangle body respectively, a metal square assembling metal fixture is provided for a lower surface of the acute angle triangle body, the guard rail installation panel having the guard rail whose lower end is pivoted to both ends lower part of the assembly metal fixture is normally energized in the course direction by a compression spring.
