The invention comprises a powdered rubber chemical which normally sticks to the mill rolls when milled into rubber, such as benzothiazyl disulphide, p-quinonedioxime and dibenzoyl p-quinonedioxime, containing 0.5-5% of its weight of a polyvalent metal naphthenate, e.g. calcium and zinc naphthenates The compositions may be prepared by forming a water-dispersible solution of naphthenate in a hydrocarbon solvent containing a surface-active dispersing agent, adding it to an aqueous slurry of the rubber chemical, filtering and drying.ALSO:Emulsions of rubber chemicals such as dibenzothiazyl disulphide, p-quinonedioxime and dibenzoyl p-quinonedioxime, are prepared by dissolving a polyvalent metal napthenate (0,5-5% by weight of the rubber chemical) in a hydrocarbon solvent, such as mineral spirits, gasolene, kerosene, benzene, toluene or mixtures thereof, containing a surface-active dispersing agent, and adding to it an aqueous slurry of the rubber chemical. |
