An appropriate interfrequency measurement is achieved when a mobile station device is capable of receiving multiple frequency bands simultaneously. Disclosed is a base station device of a mobile communication system comprising multiple base station devices which transmit with mutually different frequency bands and a mobile station device which can communicate simultaneously with each of the base station devices, wherein a judgment is made regarding whether an interfrequency measurement must be performed to enable the mobile station device to communicate with the multiple base station devices, and when the result of the judgment is that an interfrequency measurement is required, a first interfrequency measurement method which does not require that a measurement gap be provided within any of the frequency bands, or a second interfrequency measurement method which does require that a measurement gap be provided within any of the frequency bands, is selected based on the number of the frequency bands of the base station devices which are communicating simultaneously with the mobile station device and the number of the frequency bands which the mobile station device is capable of receiving simultaneously. |
