<p>A method and a device for optimizing the decision threshold level of an optical receiver are provided, to be used for solving problems, existing in the present art, of large-domain real-time decision threshold level adjustment that affect system stability and reliability during the running process of an optical communication system. The method comprises the steps: determining the maximum and minimum values of the adjustment range of the decision threshold level, and determining the adjustment step length of said threshold level (10); adjusting the decision threshold level value within said adjustment range, while separately detecting the corresponding previous forward error correction bit error rates (FEC BER) for different such values (11); finding the minimum value in said detected previous FEC BER; the corresponding decision threshold level value is the optimal such value (12). The device comprises a decision threshold level adjustment unit, a previous FEC BER detecting unit, a decision threshold level control unit and an optimal decision threshold level determining unit. Easy to implement, the invention avoids turbulence phenomena caused by frequent adjustment of the decision threshold level when the optical receiver is in service bearing mode.</p> |
