Plastic sheet material or plastic-coated fabric is embossed by an embossing band, the emboss - ing surface of which is of an organo polysiloxane elastomer. A paste of thermoplastic material, e.g. containing vinyl polymers and copolymers, may be spread on an endless embossing band, gelled by heating and stripped from the band. A supporting fabric substrate may be laminated to the plastic sheet while it is still hot. Gelling may be by radiant heat. The thermoplastic paste may be applied in two applications, using pastes of different viscosity or different colours. |
