<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The tool (1) has a tool-holding spindle (4) extended along an axis (A) and holding a tunneling tool (30) i.e. drill, and brushless electric motors (8, 10) connected to a tool-holding spindle driving mechanism (12) for rotating respective driving units i.e. driving pinions (40, 46). An electronic control unit independently controls the motors to adjust rotation speed of the respective units (40, 46), in an independent manner. The motors have output shafts (32, 34) that rotate the units (40, 46), respectively, where the shafts are engaged with respect to one another. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a tunneling method. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Tunneling machine i.e. drilling machine, for drilling a bore (claimed) in an element composed of carbon fiber composite and aluminum layers, while evacuating formed cuts, during aircraft manufacturing. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The machine tunnels the element composed of layers made of different materials such as carbon fiber and aluminum, and evacuate cuts formed during tunneling, for ensuring a precise bore with better quality.
