PURPOSE: A document sharing method using a standard image terminal or IPTV and a server thereof are provided to enable a document sharing server to directly perform rendering of a screen to be outputted by a standard image terminal if the standard image terminal transmits control command signals such as DTMF signals to the document sharing server. CONSTITUTION: A document sharing method using a standard image terminal or IPTV comprises the following steps: a step of uploading an electronic conference related image to a document sharing server(100); a step of transmitting rendering data to at least one standard image terminal after rendering the uploaded electronic conference related image; a step of outputting the received rendering data to a display device; a step of transmitting a control command signal to the document sharing server by receiving an electronic conference related function from a user; and a step of transmitting data to a standard image terminal which transmits the control command signal.
