UPPER FRAME EQUIPMENT OF STEADY REST FOR A HEAVY-DUTY CRANK SHAFT

PURPOSE: An upper frame apparatus of a work rest for a large crank shaft is provided to automatically or manually lift front and rear quills while preventing damage to the exterior surface of a crank shaft. CONSTITUTION: An upper frame apparatus of a work rest for a large crank shaft comprises center, front, and rear quill lifting units(50,80,100), a decelerating unit(60), and a manual/automatic gear switching unit(110). The center quill lifting unit is connected to a center quill(40) and carries the center quill. The decelerating unit precisely regulates the center quill by reducing the rotational speed of the center quill lifting unit. The front quill lifting unit transports a front quill to a setting position. The front and rear quill lifting units automatically or manually transport the front quill(70) and a rear quill(90). The rear quill lifting unit transfers the rear quill to a setting position. The manual/automatic gear switching unit automatically or manually drives the front and rear quill lifting units.
