It is intended to provide an aqueous composition comprising water and, dissolved therein, hydroxyethyl cellulose, methyl cellulose, and/or hypromellose, and a pharmaceutical comprising the aqueous composition and, blended therein, a medicament. In the composition of the invention, its viscosity is rapidly increased by heat at around body temperature, however, when a weak force such as light shaking is applied, its viscosity is rapidly decreased. When the pharmaceutical comprising the aqueous composition of the invention and, blended therein, a medicament is administered to the body, the composition of the invention is promptly thickened at the administration site and is retained at the site for a long period of time, therefore, BA of the medicament is extremely increased. Further, the composition of the invention thickened by heat is easily changed into a composition with high fluidity by only applying a weak force. Therefore, it is not necessary to store it in a cold place or refrigeration and it is portable.
