PURPOSE: An optical temperature sensor is provided to measure a wide range of temperature by varying the shielding rate of light transmitted through optical fiber with the bending of a bimetal element according to temperature. CONSTITUTION: An optical temperature sensor comprises a light source(151), a light splitter(160), first and second optical detectors(171,172), and a temperature calculation unit(180). The light splitter distributes the light from the light source to first and second input optical fibers. The first and second optical detectors detect the light transmitted through first and second output optical fibers. The temperature calculation unit calculates the ambient temperature of the place where a housing(110) is installed from a signal outputted based on the light quantity transmitted from the first and second optical detectors.
