The device has a base comprising two lateral base profiles with retainers for cover retaining profiles of side profiles of a dry construction wall channel. A bar (11) is arranged in the wall channel and interconnects the base profiles. Springy sliding blocks (6) are formed in the retainers for the cover retaining profiles. A baseplate (12) is provided at the lower side of the base and has two laterally projecting side brackets (13', 13''), which are wedged behind the coverings of the wall channel.
