PURPOSE: A liquid crystal apparatus is provided to further suppress reduction of penetration rate and display more proper image. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal apparatus comprises a substrate(10,11), liquid crystal layer(55), color filter layer(33), first pixel electrode(21B), first electrode and second electrode(22). The substrate comprises first and second substrates. The color filter layer has a first pigmentation layer(35B) transmitting light of a first wave length area and a second pigmentation layer(35G) transmitting light of a second wave length area. The first pixel electrode is formed on the first substrate and placed on a first sub pixel area(30B). The first electrode has a second pixel electrode(21G).
