PURPOSE: A refrigerator equipped with a home bar heater and a method for controlling the home bar heater is provided to reduce power consumption of the refrigerator by operating the home bar heater only when condensation is generated. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator comprises a home bar frame(200), a home bar door(300), a moisture sensor(500), and a home bar heater(400). The home bar frame includes an opening(210). The opening is formed in one side of a door(20) shielding a main body. The home bar door is rotatably installed on the home bar frame and selectively shields the opening. The moisture sensor is offered to the home bar frame measures and the home bar door. The home bar heater is selectively turned on/off according to a measured value of the moisture sensor. The home bar heater is formed along the circumference of the home bar frame or the home bar door. The home bar heater and the moisture sensor are arranged in the outside of a gasket(220) sealing an interval of the home bar frame and the home bar door.
