1,110,928. Supporting filaments in electric lamps. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. 6 April, 1967 [7 April, 1966], No. 15893/67. Heading H1F. In an elongated incandescent lamp, intermediate supports for a longitudinally extending filament are formed of resilient wire, preferably of molybdenum, bent to form a loop 6 in the shape of the Greek letter Omega, the proximal parts 10 of which overlap when the support is inserted in the envelope, at least one end of the wire being bent over several lines so that some of the bent-over portions extend in the direction of length of the bulb as at 7. When envelopes of small diameter are used, exhausting and gas filling can be carried out through one end having still the full diameter of the envelope, which is then closed and thelead-in wire simultaneously sealed in.
|
