FIELD: physics, computer engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: recording medium which has a data structure for controlling playback of subtitle text has a recording area which stores the subtitle text stream. The subtitle text stream includes a style segment and a presentation segment joined to the style segment. The style segment includes style information which defines at least one zone style. Style information provides zone location information for locating the zone on an image and text window location information for location thereof in the said zone. Zone subtitles include subtitle text data and a zone style identifier.
