<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter for stably driving an electric motor by suppressing noise and vibration of the electric motor even if an interval of position detection is narrowed in order to drive the electric motor at a sine wave and avoiding step-out of the electric motor. <P>SOLUTION: The inverter (1) is used to drive the electric motor (2) having a rotor made of a permanent magnet and a stator formed by winding a three-phase stator winding at a sine wave by applying a predetermined power supply voltage to the stator winding. The inverter (1) has: a position detecting means for detecting the position of the rotor with respect to the stator by comparing an induction voltage generated in the stator winding of a non-conduction phase among phases to a reference voltage in a position detection segment (38) as an electric angle other than a conduction angle of the non-conduction phase; and an AD conversion means for converting the induction voltage from AC to DC in an end portion (44) of an induction voltage waveform. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
