<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultra-precise machine tool with five-axis control which is perfectly symmetrical at a primary structural section with respect to a machining point and can minimize errors caused by thermal displacement. <P>SOLUTION: A pair of Y-axis guide members 41, 41 are fixed on an upper surface of a base 1 at both sides in the X-axis direction across an X-axis slider 3, and Y-axis sliders 4, 4 are movably guided in the horizontal Y-axis direction orthogonal to the X-axis. The Y-axis slider 4 can be driven in the Y-axis direction by minimizing vibration and position errors since Y-axis linear motors 42, 42 and the Y-axis guide members 41, 41 are arranged at the center of the mass of the Y-axis sliders 4, 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
