<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a home network system for enabling a user to simply and quickly check display information, such as, failure and abnormal state of an information household electrical appliance, and to provide a gateway, a program and a method thereof. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the home network system 100, including an information household electrical appliance 2, an information household electrical appliance 3 with a display part, and the gateway 1 connected communicably to the information household electrical appliance 2 and the information household electrical appliance 3 with a display part. The gateway 1 is provided with: a display information receiving part 11 for receiving display information; a display information storage area 24 for storing the display information; an inquiry signal receiving part 12 for receiving an inquiry signal, a display information extracting part 13 for extracting the display information from the display information storage area 24, on the basis of the inquiry signal; and an inquiry result transmitting part 14 for transmitting the extracted display information. The information household electrical appliance 3 with a display part is provided with a control part 60 for transmitting an inquiry signal which indicates about the display information in a predetermined timing and for displaying the display information on a display part 64, upon receiving the display information as an inquiry result.
