PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container for conveying waste materials which is used for conveying and storing poisonous waste materials and in which the fastening of a container body and a lid member can be carried out certainly and the operation of which is easy. SOLUTION: The container comprises the container body 2 with an upper opening and the lid member 10 to close the opening of the container body 2 wherein a rod body 20 which moves up and down by a power member is arranged along each side face of the container body 2 and an opening/closing member 21, the base edge of which is pivoted on the tip of each rod body 20 and which has a hook 24 engaged with and released from a holding piece 15 formed at the lid body 20 at the tip is provided. Therefore, by a rise of the rod body 20, the hook member 24 of the opening/closing member moves to a height capable of being engaged with the holding piece 15, parting from the side face of the container body and by the descending of the rod body 20, the hook 24 is closed to the side face of the container body and in contact with and engaged with the holding piece 15 and the lid member 10 are fastened to the container body 2.
