<p>PURPOSE: An image capturing apparatus, a method for determining presence or absence of image area, and a recording medium are provided to accurately an image area corresponding to a subject and to shorten the time required for decision process. CONSTITUTION: An image capturing unit(18) forms a first image with low resolution from image-pickup pictures obtained by an imaging device. A detection unit(14) detects an image area corresponding to the subject from the first image. In case the image area is detected, a first decision unit(15) determines whether the area corresponding to the detected image area is the image area corresponding to the subject.</p> |
