PURPOSE: An optical disc and a recording/playing method thereof are provided to record information to a plurality of record layers by using an optical information storage layer including a layer format region and a user data region. CONSTITUTION: An optical disc and a recording/playing method thereof includes an optical information storage layer(13). The optical information storage layer comprises a layer format region and a user data region. A plurality of virtual layers are set in the layer format region. Layer information capable of distinguishing a plurality of virtual layers is recorded in a plurality of virtual layers, respectively.
