摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut an arbitrary portion out of a distorted circular image taken with a fish eye lens and converts it into a planar regular image with less distortion. SOLUTION: A virtual spherical plane H having a radius R is defined on a distorted circular image S on XY plane, and a user is made to designate a center point P for cutting out, magnification m, and plane tilt angleϕ. A visual line vector n that penetrates an intersection Q directly above the point P is acquired. On a plane T that is orthogonal to the visual line vector n at a point G where the distance between two points OG becomes m×R, a UV orthogonal coordinate system having an orientation according to the angleϕis defined. The UV orthogonal coordinate system is bent along a side C of "virtual cylinder wherein the point G is one point on the side and whose central axis is a straight line V' that is parallel to V axis and penetrates the point O", to define a UV bent coordinate system. Using a correspondence expression between a point Ci(ui, vi) on the UV bent coordinate system and a point Si(xi, yi) on the XY coordinate system, an image in the vicinity of the point P is acquired on the UV bent coordinate system, which is developed on the plane T to obtain a planar regular image.
