<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a wire harness 100 equipped with a connector JC having a terminal locking piece 45 of a cantilever type for locking a wire-side terminal 20 to a connector terminal 40, wherein an insertion failure of the wire-side terminal 20 can be detected without adding any special process. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The connector holding device of a wire harness is provided with: a connector holder 220 having a connector locking part 222 which is to be engaged with a terminal locking piece 45 deformed outside of a terminal housing chamber 44 due to an insertion failure of a terminal 20 and regulates a coming-off of a connector housing 40 from a housing accommodating concave part 221; and a holder connection means 230, 231 for connecting with a base 214. The holder connection means 230, 231 allows a relative displacement of the connector holder 220 from the base 214 with a given tensile force and protects the terminal locking piece 45 engaged with a locking piece engaging part 222 at a time of a coupling failure.
