<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security system which detects whether or not an opening/closing member for making an opening of a house openable/closable is closed, or whether or not a locking portion of the opening/closing member is locked. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This security system 1 includes: an antenna 4 capable of receiving an electric wave; a wireless IC tag 6 with a circuit 5 which enables an electric current to be taken out from the electric wave; a tag reader 7 capable of reading the wireless IC tag 6 in a noncontact state by the constantly-transmitted electric wave; a shielding member 8a which is formed of a radio shielding material capable of shielding the electric wave, and which shields the wireless IC tag 6 when the opening/closing member 3 is closed; a control means 9 for determining whether or not the opening/closing member 3 is closed, on the basis of whether or not the tag reader 7 can detect the wireless IC tag 6; and a display means 10 for displaying the result of the determination of the control means 9.
