PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering angle detector capable of obtaining a steering angle quickly after startup. SOLUTION: The steering angle detector for detecting the steering angle of a steering wheel for turning wheels of a vehicle includes a steering angle sensor 5 for detecting that the steering wheel reaches a Z-phase at a neutral position of the steering angle of zero and at each 360-degree and a wheel speed sensor 8 for detecting a rotation amount of the wheels. The detector includes level-1 correction for setting the steering angle based on a stop steering angle stored when an engine stops if the Z-phase of the steering wheel is detected based on the steering angle sensor 5 at the start of drive, level-2A and level-2B correction for correcting the steering angle of the steering wheel based on detection results of the wheel speed sensor 8 at an extremely low vehicle speed irrespective of the correction results of the level-1 correction, and level-3 correction for correcting the steering angle of the steering wheel based on the detection results of the sensor 8 during normal speed straight drive.
