PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a hydraulic hose which can accurately keep tension applied to a strip member constant. SOLUTION: A detection means 50 for detecting the position in the radial direction of a drum 42 of the strip member 28 wound onto the drum 42 is installed. A controller 52 adjusts a retarding force applied to the drum 42 based on the detection results of the detection means 50 to make the tension applied to the strip member 28 wound onto the mandrel 30 constant. As a result, irrespective of the variation of the diameter on the drum 42 of the strip member 28, the tension applied to the strip member 28 wound onto the mandrel 30 can accurately be kept constant. Accordingly, a spiral reinforcing layer is formed while the inside diameter of a winding habit formed in the strip member 28 is kept constant, and the hydraulic hose 10 having uniform properties can be obtained advantageously.
