<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a hydraulic hose which can be produced using an inexpensive apparatus, the hydraulic hose, and strip members for forming spiral reinforcing layers. <P>SOLUTION: The first to fourth strip members 28A, 28B, 28C, and 28D for forming the first-fourth spiral reinforcing layers 14, 16, 18, and 20 are produced respectively. The strip member 28 is composed of a strip of unvulcanized coat rubber 24 sheet which has a width of a constant size larger than its thickness and is extended and a plurality of steel cords 26 held by the coat rubber 24 sheet. A mandrel 40 is covered with a tube 12 for an innermost layer. The mandrel 40 is rotated, the strip members 28 are delivered from a drum 52, and the first-fourth strip members 28A, 28B, 28C, and 28D are wound spirally in turn onto the tube 12 by making a traveller 50 travel.
