<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrophilic polyethersulfone separation membrane containing a hydrophilic polyethersulfone, in which polyether segments are block-copolymerized at both the terminals of aromatic polyether segments, with an anti-fouling property, heat resistance, chemical strength (chemical resistance), and physical strength, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the separation membrane containing the aromatic polyethersulfone segments with at least 25,000 of the numerical-average molecular weight and the hydrophilic polyethersulfone which is a block-copolymer comprising the polyether segments, the hydrophilic polyethersulfone in which the polyether segments are copolymerized at both the terminals of the aromatic polyethersulfone segments is used at least 20 mol% of the total hydrophilic polyethersulfone.
