<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a fail safe by preventing a drain hose from being wrongly connected to a lint catching means. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The washing machine has an internal drain hose 50 communicatively connected from the drain 2a of a water tank 2 to a drainage connecting opening 2b below a washing machine outer case 1, the drain hose 4 arranged to the drainage connecting opening 2b, and a lint catching box 6 connected to the tip of the drain hose 4, arranging a lint filter 11 catching lint in the interior, and arranging an incoming water opening 7 above an outgoing water opening 8 on the side. In the drain hose 4, both ends are given different diameters to connect the hose to the drainage connecting opening 2b and the incoming water opening 7. The lint catching box 6 is structured so as to give the incoming water opening 7 and the outgoing water opening 8 different outside diameters. The outgoing water opening 8 has the same diameter as the drainage connecting opening 2b of the washing machine outer case 1 and can prevent the drain hose from being wrongly connected and provide a fail safe safety measure.
