<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum-type washing machine excellent in operability provided with an opening means to forcibly open a lid body attached closely to the opening in front of the body to put in and put out the laundry, without spoiling the appearance of the machine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The drum-type washing machine includes a lid body (7) to keep a water tank watertight by sandwiching a seal member placed in the opening, and is characterized in that it has a lock means (15) which keeps and releases the closing state where the lid body (7) is closed, and an opening means (20) which leads the lid body (7) to the opening state forcibly by entering the gap between the opening and the lid body (7) in cooperation with a release operation of this lock means (15).
