<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent trouble by reporting forgetting of removing a transfer fitting used in transportation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This washing machine includes: a water tub 82 which internally houses a drum 78 housing laundry articles in a rotatable manner and is supported in a washing machine body 83 in a swingable manner; the transfer clasp 84 fixing the water tub 82 and the washing machine body in transfer of the washing machine; an acceleration sensor 88 fixed to the water tub 82; a motor 81 rotating the drum 78; a control portion 31 controlling the rotation of the motor 81 and controlling a series of steps such as washing, rinsing, dehydrating; and a display means 36 of a signal from the control portion 31. The control portion 31, in a fabric amount detection step, controls an acceleration detection portion 39 to detect a maximum acceleration of fore-and-aft or vertical direction of the water tub 82 using the acceleration sensor 88 by acceleration and deceleration operation to the number of rotations N2 not smaller than the primary resonance frequency of a vibration system such as the water tub. When the maximum acceleration is smaller than a preset reference value, the control portion detects the presence of the transfer fitting 84 and displays the presence of the unremoved transfer clasp 84 on the display means 36.
