<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that efficiently determines whether a voltage is normally applied to an image forming unit from a plurality of voltage application lines or not. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a plurality of voltage generating circuits (71A, 72A to 72C), each of which generates a predetermined voltage; a voltage application means (70) that applies each predetermined voltage to the image forming unit via the corresponding voltage application line; and a control means for controlling the operation of the voltage application means. The control means causes the first voltage generating circuit 71A to generate an inspection voltage, and applies the inspection voltage to the second voltage generating circuit via the first voltage application line LK3, an inspecting jig 100K, and a second voltage application line LK4, with the second voltage generating circuits (72B and 72C) used as load on the first voltage generating circuit.
