<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent white-out in resolution conversion using an edge direction. <P>SOLUTION: An image processor includes an edge direction determining unit 22, a resolution converting unit, a white-out determining unit 24, and an edge direction correcting unit 25. The edge direction determining unit 22 determines an edge direction for each pixel in an image. The resolution converting unit performs resolution conversion for the image to higher resolution, and, in the resolution conversion, determines a pixel value assigned to each pixel after resolution conversion using the image and the determined edge direction. The white-out determining unit 24 determines whether white-out occurs in the image after the resolution conversion or not. The edge direction correcting unit 25 corrects the determined edge direction for a pixel determined as a white-out occurring pixel by the white-out determining unit to an edge direction at which an allocation sequence for allocating a pixel value equally to each pixel after the resolution conversion is determined.
