IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of efficiently detecting residual paper sheets in an image forming system in which an option device is additionally provided in an image forming apparatus body.

SOLUTION: The image forming system includes: a paper detection means which is disposed in the vicinity of paper conveyance lines of the option device and the image forming apparatus body and detects paper sheets; configuration settling means which settles configurations of the option device and the image forming apparatus body; first and second starting means which drive the option device and the image forming apparatus body to start detection of paper sheets in first and second paper conveyance lines after configuration settlement in first and second configuration settling means; a driving portion determination means which determines driving portions of the option device and/or the image forming apparatus body when starting the first starting means and/or the second starting means; and a control means which uses the driving portions determined by the driving portion determination means to detect paper sheets in the first paper conveyance line and/or the second paper conveyance line.
