<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve combustion efficiency and reduce emission of harmful contaminant by magnetically treating fuel or the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This magnetic fluid treatment device 6 includes at least one fluid channel 13, and the or each fluid channel is provided with at least two peripherally located magnets 10. The device is adapted to co-operate with a fluid supply conduit, so that in use, fluid flowing through the fluid channel is subjected to a magnetic field. In this configuration, the at least two magnets are located on opposite sides of the or each fluid channel and have a separation of under about 90 mm. The invention further relates to a magnetic fluid treatment device including at least one fluid channel, and the or each fluid channel has at least one peripherally located magnet.
