<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environment generator for selecting and using one of a plurality of stored execution environments for a computer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The environment generator 20 is connected to a storage device 90, a backup DB 40 storing a plurality of execution environments, and a configuration information DB 50 storing configuration information of each of the plurality of execution environments. The environment generator 20 includes a storage part 23 for comparing input configuration information with the configuration information stored in the configuration information DB 50, and for selecting any of the plurality of execution environments, based on a comparison result, to be stored from the backup DB 40 into the storage device 90.
