摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deposit reduction device for an internal combustion engine effectively inhibiting formation of deposit even when a fuel of poor properties is used, and keeping a clean state of an injection hole part of a fuel injection valve irrespective of the quality of the fuel properties. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The deposit reduction device for the internal combustion engine includes a condition determination means (determination step S16) determining whether conditions where deposit adheres on a section near the injection hole part of the fuel injection valve equipped on the engine are satisfied or not, and an engine control means (operation control step S17) controlling a state of the internal combustion engine to inhibit adhesion of deposit when the condition determination means determines that the conditions where deposit adheres on a section near the injection hole part are satisfied. In the device, a fuel property detection means (oxidation detection step S11) for detecting properties of fuel supplied to a fuel injection valve is provided, and the engine control means controls the state of the internal combustion engine according to the determination result of the condition determination means and fuel properties detected by the fuel property detection means (step S11-S17).
