t-BUTYL ALCOHOL SOLUTION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a t-butyl alcohol solution which inhibits the formation of an iron sulfate and furthermore does not consume carbon steel. SOLUTION: This method for producing the t-butyl alcohol solution comprises subjecting S-C4 and water to catalytic reaction in the presence of a t-butyl alcohol solution having not more than 0.40 μmol/L sulfuric acid as sulfate ion concentration in the mixed solution composed of t-butyl alcohol, a hydrocarbon and water, and an acid catalyst to obtain a mixed solution of t-butyl alcohol, a hydrocarbon, and water and thereafter removing sulfuric acid from the mixed solution.
