PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To strike a balance between the improvement of moisture resistance and the stabilization of a self-recovering function, concerning a metalized film capacitor which is used in an automobile field or the like. SOLUTION: The metalized film capacitor is structured by using a metalized film, which is formed by arranging an insulation margin 3 continuously in a longitudinal direction on one end side of a width direction of a dielectric film 1, forming a metal vapor deposition electrode 2 on a part except for the insulation margin 3, and forming a protective film 5 formed of an amorphous carbon film on the metal vapor deposition electrode 2. The amorphus carbon film has an amorphus structure which has both sp3 bonding for constituting diamond and sp2 bonding for constituting graphite, and is formed in a flexible and precise film. Thus, a better coating property than a protective film formed of organic oil is obtained, and the moisture resistance and corrosion resistance are improved. Furthermore, the film provides corrosion resistance improving effect even with a thinner film than a protective film formed of inorganic metal oxide to prevent the degradation of the self-recovering function. Accordingly, the moisture resistance and corrosion resistance are improved, and at the same time, the self-recovering function and ease of operation of a self safety mechanism can be stabilized.
